Da Nang: A Journey of Discovery

Our time in Da Nang was an unforgettable mix of cool breezes, iconic landmarks, and laid-back beach vibes—a refreshing contrast to the bustling energy of Ho Chi Minh City.

Arrival and First Impressions

After a delayed flight amid the TET rush, we finally landed in Da Nang late at night. Unlike the tropical heat we’d experienced before, the city welcomed us with a cool, crisp climate—temperatures dipped below 20°C, a welcome change! We hopped into a cab and headed straight to our luxurious hotel, where we were immediately smitten by the stunning sea-facing views.

Day 1: Getting Ready to Explore

Needing to cover a big city, we rented a motorbike to cruise around and get a taste of Da Nang. With our bags packed with excitement and our sights set on the legendary Golden Bridge (scheduled for Day 2), we spent the day exploring the urban landscape. The anticipation was building for the Hoi An Lantern Festival, which promised to add a magical touch to our journey.

Day 2: The Golden Bridge Adventure

Our second day started bright and early—5 AM to be exact. After fueling up with a hearty breakfast buffet boasting over 20 delicious options at our hotel, we set off for our long-awaited trip to the Golden Bridge. Even though the morning chill (temperatures below 15°C) made the air crisp, it couldn’t dampen our spirits.

Our guided tour began with a fascinating visit to a Stone Museum, setting the stage for the wonders ahead. The real highlight was the ride on the cable cars—a unique way to see the landscape that left our ears a bit numb from the high altitude! By 5 PM, we had soaked in the breathtaking views at the Golden Bridge and experienced firsthand why it’s become such a coveted spot for travelers.

Later, our guide mentioned a TET fire show was scheduled at the Golden Bridge. We waited expectantly until 9 PM, only to learn that the show had been postponed to midnight. Given our long and hectic day, we decided to skip the extended wait and instead ventured to a nearby market. There, the vibrant local energy, delicious dinner, and lively chatter made for a perfect, relaxed end to the day.

Day 3: A Chill Goodbye

On our final day in Da Nang, we started a little later—around 8 AM—and treated ourselves to one last indulgent breakfast buffet. The charm of our sea-facing hotel left us with a lingering desire to return someday. With ample time to spare, we headed to the beach for some well-earned relaxation. A couple of drinks and a coffee at a local café (trust me, it was both delicious and budget-friendly) capped off our laid-back day perfectly.

As the evening approached, we reluctantly said goodbye to Da Nang. Our flight to Hanoi beckoned, and with heavy hearts, we made our way to the airport. Even the airport fare couldn’t dampen our spirits—we enjoyed a fantastic bowl of Pho, a fitting culinary farewell before our next adventure in Hanoi.

Final Thoughts

Da Nang truly stole our hearts with its blend of modern excitement, natural beauty, and cultural charm. From the awe-inspiring Golden Bridge to the relaxing beachside afternoons, every moment was a reminder of why travel is such a joy. We’re leaving Da Nang with unforgettable memories and the promise to return someday.

Stay tuned as our journey continues in Hanoi!
